I am telling you from my experience. It is very difficult to reduce at first place, it is impossible to maintain after reduction.I lost almost 40kgs with hard work and determination, it was tough but I attained what I wanted. Then came the tougher part, I could not spare all that time for exercise, I did control my diet but still I do put on some extra pounds now and then. I read in an article that once the fat cells get habitual of larger size they love to get back into the previous shape, so it is better not to put on those extra pounds remain shapely and feel good.

What you are saying is absolutely true. Once fat cells are present in the body, you can only shrink them (by working out an dieting). However once you keep eating more calories, they get filled with fats again.
So when do fat cells start developing? It usually happens in adolescence (Ages 13-19). Hence thats the age one has to really take care of their health. Teenagers anyways have hormones pumping, so it aids them in adding muscle when working out.

Yes that is right, it is said that a person's weight remains somewhat same what he or she acquires by the age of twenty. The fat cells acquire the final shape by this time. So youngsters better watch out.

So much easier said than done! I have been up and down so much that I get dizzy. I get to a nice weight and then creep back up, I just cannot maintain what I achieve.

It is not impossible to maintain a good weight but it will take work and determination. You can't stop exercising and then begin eating whatever and expect to stay slim - it doesn't work that way. You have to make the time to exercise and let it become a part of your routine. You also have to change how you eat for life and not just for your dieting period. Start making healthy changes and they will become habits after a while - that will help you maintain a healthy weight.

Very well said. diet and exercise must be a lifestyle change, not a temporary one!
